The parts list alone — an eyeball, a bed of moss, two trees — had me grinning before we even opened the first page. My kid's been cast as 'Sunnybrook' and the whole play setup feels properly angsty in the best way. It's clever, weird, and exactly the sort of little book that gets reread.
Took a chance on this for a little gift and ended up reading it myself first. The character list, especially the 'bed of moss' and 'eyeball' parts, is so weirdly specific it feels like a inside joke I'm now part of. Short read but it hits that perfect angsty, funny note.
