The staple binding lies flat when I need both hands free, which is more than I can say for glued notebooks I've used. Paper takes pencil and ballpoint well, though I wish the 14 pages were a touch thicker for inkier pens. Still, a solid pocket-sized companion for quick lists and sketches.
